Hello and welcome! I'm Melissa Dowbiggin, the Sugar-Free Coach.

I’m passionate about helping moms conquer their sugar cravings, lose weight, boost their energy, and take control of their health for good.

My Sugar-Free Journey

My journey to a sugar-free lifestyle began many, many years ago.

Like many of you, I struggled with intense sugar cravings that seemed impossible to control. I often felt tired, experienced energy crashes, and just could not stabilize my weight no matter how many diets I tried (yes, there were many!).

Not only that, I didn’t understand my cravings to be a sugar addiction - I honestly thought I had no willpower whatsoever.

The Breaking Point 

I hit a point where I just couldn’t take it anymore. And so, determined to make a change, I went on a journey to heal my relationship with food and truly figure out the root cause of my issues - intense sugar cravings, mental health struggles, and simply just feeling unwell ALL THE TIME.

I went to college to study nutrition at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition then spent countless hours and many years researching and experimenting everything about nutrition, health, and wellness. 

There were many ups and downs, moments of frustration, and plenty of learning along the way. But with perseverance and discovering all the things that DIDN’T work, I started seeing REMARKABLE changes in my mental and physical health. My energy levels improved, I had a boost in my mental health, my sugar cravings diminished, and I finally felt in control of my health. 

Why I Started Sugar-Free Coaching

Inspired by my own transformation, I felt a strong desire to help others who were struggling with similar issues. I founded this blog and created programs to help moms kick sugar:

I love cooking, getting out in nature, and gardening (I do not have a green thumb 😅). 

I have 3 beautiful little children and a coop full of chickens. 🐔

I love to travel and explore but since having children, my idea of a get-away is a solo trip to the grocery store. 🍎

I read my bible daily and trust Jesus as my savior. 🙏
